Tehran Stock Exchange closed for state funeral mourning period

Under a Supreme Council of the Stock Exchange resolution, all capital-market venues including the Tehran Stock Exchange, Iran Fara Bourse, Iran Mercantile Exchange and the Energy Exchange are closed from Saturday, Tir 13 through Monday, Tir 15, 1405 (July 4 to 6, 2026) for the state funeral and burial of Iran's former Supreme Leader. The last trading day before the closure was Wednesday, Tir 10, and trading resumes Tuesday, Tir 16, 1405 (July 7, 2026).

State funeral and burial of Iran's former Supreme Leader (July 3-9, 2026)

Under the officially announced schedule, state mourning ceremonies for Iran's former Supreme Leader run from July 3 to July 9, 2026 across several cities: a reception for foreign dignitaries and lying-in-state in Tehran (July 3-4), a funeral procession in Tehran (July 6), transfer of the body to Qom (July 7), ceremonies in Najaf and Karbala, Iraq (July 8), and burial in Mashhad (July 9). The Tehran Stock Exchange is closed for part of this period.

Iran gold bar auction session cancelled after banking network disruption

Iran's central bank held the 5th weekly Islamic Treasury Bond auction of fiscal year 1405 on Wednesday, 10 Tir 1405 (July 1, 2026), the last trading session before the capital market's closure for the state funeral. Roughly 26.1 trillion tomans of government bonds were sold at a yield to maturity of about 28.7 percent.

Pariz Sharg held its IPO on Sunday, 24 Khordad 1405 (June 14, 2026), offering 9 percent of its shares (180 million shares) on the second market of Iran Fara Bourse. The 148th gold bar auction session at Iran's Currency and Gold Exchange Center was held on June 2, 2026 (12 Khordad 1405). 104 kilograms of gold bars were offered and 39 kilograms traded, at an average price of 24.55 billion tomans per bar, for a total transaction value exceeding 957 billion tomans.
