According to Donya-e-Eqtesad, published Thursday, August 20, 2026 (29 Mordad 1405), Iran's central bank received about $7.5 billion in oil sale revenue in the first four months of the Iranian year 1405, roughly 1.5 times the amount for the same period last year. The central bank had earlier built up about $4.5 billion in additional foreign currency reserves during the recent war. Iranian economic officials say these resources, together with other foreign currency income, can cover the country's essential import needs through the first ten months of the year.
Under three scenarios in the report, based on an assumed oil price of $80 a barrel, daily exports of 500,000 barrels would generate about $14.6 billion in annual gross revenue, 1 million barrels about $29.2 billion, and 1.5 million barrels about $43.8 billion, figures the report says depend on this year's political conditions and trade restrictions.
