ADNOC Gas, the natural gas arm of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, said on Monday, August 10, 2026, that it will invest more than $8 billion in its Rich Gas Development project. According to Oilprice.com, citing the company's statement, $3.9 billion of the total will go toward building a new gas processing train at the Habshan facility, the UAE's largest gas processing plant, to be built by Wison Engineering, while $4.3 billion will fund a new natural gas liquids fractionation unit at the Ruwais LNG project. The new spending is on top of an earlier $5 billion commitment to the same project. The Ruwais project, slated to enter operation in late 2028, will more than double ADNOC Gas's existing LNG capacity to roughly 15 million tons per year. ADNOC Gas chief executive Fatema Al Nuaimi called the final investment decision "a defining moment" for the company, targeting 60 percent EBITDA growth by 2030. The investment comes even as the UAE continues expanding its natural gas sector despite ongoing disruption in the Strait of Hormuz.
