CNN: only 14 commercial ships passed through the Strait of Hormuz in the past 24 hours
30 July 2026 | 3 months ago
CNN, citing data from the MarineTraffic vessel-tracking system, reported that only 14 commercial ships passed through the Strait of Hormuz in the 24 hours to the early morning of Thursday, 30 July 2026 (8 Mordad 1405). Mehr News Agency carried the report, citing Al Jazeera, at 06:10 the same day.
The report was published at a time when the United States maintains that shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz is flowing without obstruction.
The Strait of Hormuz is the main outlet for Persian Gulf oil exports, and the number of vessels transiting it is one of the most direct indicators of how far global oil flows are being disrupted.
