Hamrah Aval, Iran's largest mobile operator, said it raised its internet, voice and SMS tariffs by up to 40 percent from the early hours of Friday 23 October 2026 (1 Aban 1405), with the approval of the competent authorities. According to the operator's public relations office, internet packages bought before the new tariffs took effect remain usable unchanged until they expire. Under the new tariff, traffic on domestic messaging apps is charged at one-third of the normal rate and traffic to eligible domestic websites at half price.
The Mobile Telecommunication Company of Iran (ticker HMRZ) said in a Group B disclosure on Codal, published the same morning, that mobile operator tariffs for data, voice and SMS packages rise 40 percent from 23 October 2026. The company wrote that the final effect of the increase will be determined after accounting for higher operating costs, network management and part of transmission costs, and will be reported later. Hamrah Aval attributed the decision to a multiple-fold rise in the cost of equipment, maintenance and expansion of communications infrastructure.
