Iran extends the import order registration window without foreign currency transfer to 6 September 2026

1 August 2026 | 3 months ago

The Export and Import Regulations Office of Iran's Trade Development Organisation issued a circular to executive customs offices on Friday 31 July 2026 extending the validity of the import order registration scheme without foreign currency transfer to 6 September 2026 (15 Shahrivar 1405).

According to the text of the notice, the extension was made on the grounds of continuing emergency conditions and the need to speed up goods declaration and clearance. Its legal basis is clause 51 of the national economic resilience and civil defence package for emergency conditions, adopted by the Supreme National Security Council on 2 March 2026, together with clause one of the 12 July 2026 decision of the ministry's foreign exchange working group.

Under the circular, creating a new order registration and continuing the process for previously registered orders without currency transfer is conditional on holding a warehouse receipt dated on or before 30 May 2026. The no currency transfer mechanism allows an importer to clear goods without an allocation of government supplied foreign currency, using their own currency resources, a tool that has played a significant role in securing goods supply in recent months.
