According to Ecoiran, published Sunday, Shahrivar 1, 1405 (August 23, 2026), an analysis of the producer price index for farming, horticulture and traditional animal husbandry shows year on year inflation for the index reached 126.1 percent in spring 1405 (the quarter ended June 21, 2026), the highest reading recorded for this index since the start of the 1390s decade (early 2010s). The figure marks a jump of more than 52 percentage points from winter 1404's year on year rate of 74.1 percent.
Among subcategories, grains posted the sharpest year on year increase at 183.9 percent, followed by traditional cattle raising at 143.7 percent, other animal products at 125.8 percent, and traditional animal husbandry at 120.4 percent. Horticulture recorded the smallest rise among the subsectors at 102.7 percent, while farming and horticulture combined posted 129.8 percent and farming alone 129.5 percent. Ecoiran described the jump as a warning sign for future food price pressure and household budgets, since producer price inflation typically moves ahead of consumer inflation.
