Iran's Privatization Organization publishes terms for selling stakes in Foolad Makran, Foolad Meybod and the Esteghlal club

4 August 2026 | 3 months ago

Iran's Privatization Organization has published the terms and base prices for selling stakes in three companies and one property asset, in a notice reported by capital market media on Tuesday 4 August 2026.

The largest of the sales covers Foolad Makran Chabahar Free Zone: more than 2,406 million ordinary shares together with about 127 million preferred shares, equal to 8.43% of the company, offered by auction at a base value of 18,500 billion rials. The second is roughly 14,250,000 shares, or 46.1172% of Foolad Meybod, at a base value of 13,746.348 billion rials. Payment terms for both are identical, 50% in cash and the remainder in four six month instalments, and both auctions are set for 1 September 2026 (10 Shahrivar 1405).

In sport, 334,525,650 shares of the Esteghlal of Iran cultural and sports club, equal to 3.1% of the company, will be offered through the Iran Farabourse at a base value of about 339.29 billion rials. A company owned fuel station in Karaj, Alborz province, with a site area of 784.63 square metres, also goes to auction on the same date at a base value of about 2,974.68 billion rials. The notice stresses that the sales follow the directive on selecting strategic customers and verifying managerial competence, meaning the highest bid alone is not enough and a buyer must also demonstrate managerial, financial and technical capacity.
