Police: Judicial Action Against Sites Posting Bubble Gold Prices Begins Today

Brig. Gen. Hossein Rahimi, head of Iran's economic security police, said on the sidelines of the third online platforms conference that, per a directive from Tehran's prosecutor, judicial action against websites publishing false or bubble gold prices began today, Monday, October 5, 2026 (13 Mehr 1405). He said repayments to customers of one troubled gold bullion platform began one to two days ago and that the issue is being resolved with the platform's managers, judicial authorities and police. Rahimi also urged the public to verify a gold platform's official licensing before investing.
