15 September 2026 | last month
Abbas Goudarzi, spokesman for the presiding board of Iran's Parliament and representative for Borujerd, called on the government on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, to decide on raising pay for the armed forces, according to EcoIran citing Fars News Agency. He said that wherever parliamentary approval and support were needed, the government should submit a bill, and parliament would support it fully.
Goudarzi asked President Masoud Pezeshkian, First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref and the head of the Plan and Budget Organization to pursue the matter. The remarks do not yet amount to an approved or formally submitted pay raise bill and remain, for now, a request from parliament.
