Instant Payment of Guaranteed Cheques and Coded-Cheque Ban Take Effect

Iran's Central Bank announced that from 7 Mehr 1405 (September 29, 2026), guaranteed cheques must be paid instantly to the beneficiary without conditioning payment on interbank settlement, and issuance of coded cheques is banned from the same date. Bank Maskan confirmed the same day it had stopped issuing coded cheques, corroborating the rule's start. Trading of previously issued coded cheques will also be banned from the first day of Dey 1405 (around December 22, 2026).
