Iran government confirms 3,000 toman petrol quota cut to 50 litres

Government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani said on Sunday 2 August 2026 (11 Mordad 1405) that the petrol quota priced at 3,000 toman a litre, 100 litres when the scheme began and 70 litres during the war, now stands at 50 litres. She said the 60 litre quota at 1,500 toman and the free rate of 5,000 toman are unchanged, and any price rise will be announced before it takes effect. She put delivery cost at about 4,000 toman a litre and domestic output at roughly 100 million litres a day.
