10,000 vehicles await clearance at Hormozgan ports as 1.8 million tonnes of goods were released over five months

The head of the judiciary in Iran's Hormozgan province said on Monday, 5 Mordad 1405 (27 July 2026), that more than 10,000 vehicles are currently sitting at the province's ports and customs terminals, of which 6,000 relate to imports and 4,000 to foreign transit. Mojtaba Ghahremani said a special working group has been formed to resolve their status quickly.
He added that, according to reports presented to him, more than 1,800,000 tonnes of goods have been cleared from Hormozgan's ports and customs over the past five months, of which 445,000 tonnes were essential goods. Over the same period, 17,400 vehicles were released from the province's ports.
Ghahremani said more than 100,000 tonnes of rice and essential goods are currently held at the province's ports and customs, and that it has been approved for their clearance to be carried out rapidly. He said a special working group will begin work to ease the clearance of essential goods while observing health requirements for those items, so that they reach the market faster.
