Active Tehran Stock Exchange Shareholders Top 551,000 in a Week

According to statistical reports from the Securities and Exchange Organization's exchange oversight department, the number of active Tehran Stock Exchange shareholders, both individual and institutional and excluding trading codes active only in IPOs, reached 551,555 in the week ending Wednesday, August 12, 2026 (21 Mordad 1405). Per Bourse News, of that total, 549,446 were individual shareholders and 2,109 were institutional.

Over the same week, individual investors, institutional investors and equity funds accounted for 65 percent (1,487,710 billion rials), 12.3 percent (282,067 billion rials) and 8.6 percent (196,855 billion rials) of total trading value, respectively. Banks, base metals and petroleum products were the week's three most actively traded industries, together accounting for 36 percent of total market trading value.
