According to the latest update of the Tehran Gold Union, published by EcoIran on Thursday, 8 October 2026, the Tehran quote (a mithqal of melted gold) stood at 113,890,000 tomans, a gram of 18-carat gold at 26,291,700 tomans, a gram of 24-carat gold at 35,052,000 tomans and the new-design coin at 267,000,000 tomans. The old-design coin was announced at 259,700,000, the half coin at 141,900,000, the quarter coin at 76,500,000 and the gram coin at 37,000,000 tomans. All of these prices were lower than the previous update, and the global ounce was reported at about 4,110 dollars.
In its 08:00 update the same day, the Alanchand site showed the mithqal at 113,870,000, a gram of 18-carat gold at 26,286,990 and the new-design Emami coin at 268,500,000 tomans with a bubble of 4.47 percent, and recorded the gold ounce at 4,136.45 dollars; the gap between the two sources comes from the timing of their updates.
EcoIran had earlier written that the melted-gold mithqal reached a fresh all-time high on Tuesday, 6 October 2026, and fell by more than 2 million tomans on Wednesday, 7 October 2026. On the same day the dollar lost 5,000 tomans, the coin bubble rose to 5 percent, and the gold bubble turned positive after three months of fluctuating in negative territory. The global ounce also fell below 4,100 dollars on Wednesday as the dollar index strengthened and worries grew over Federal Reserve interest rates, and silver dropped below 60 dollars.
