Gholamreza Nouri Ghezeljeh, Iran's Minister of Agriculture Jihad, said in televised remarks reported by Tasnim News Agency and carried by Ecoiran on Sunday, 8 Shahrivar 1405 (30 August 2026), that the country has not needed to draw down its strategic reserves of basic goods since tensions began on 9 Esfand (around late February 2026). He cited growth in agricultural output over the past two years, including a claimed 5 percent rise in poultry meat production, 8.5 percent in eggs and 2.5 percent in red meat, and said Iran has achieved self sufficiency in poultry meat production for the first time. These figures are drawn directly from the minister's own remarks; no independent dataset was available to verify them separately.
