An Iranian MP has called for releasing Justice Shares and handing management of the holding companies to shareholders

Mohammadreza Mohseni Sani, a member of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, criticised the continued state management of Justice Shares (Saham-e Edalat) in remarks reported on Friday, 31 July 2026 (9 Mordad 1405), and called for the shares to be released and for management of the holding companies to be handed to shareholders.
Citing the general policies of Article 44 of the constitution, he said Justice Shares were transferred to the public, so just as the dividends belong to shareholders, the selection of the boards and chief executives of the holding companies should also rest with them. According to him, the government still holds custody and management of these companies.
The MP also said the dividend currently paid to shareholders is small because shareholders play no role in managing their own asset, adding that shareholders have neither information about nor an effective role in the costs, revenues and performance of the companies they partly own. These remarks represent the position of one member of parliament, and as of publication no new formal decision by the government or the securities regulator on releasing Justice Shares has been announced.
