Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi met a Qatari mediator on Monday, 6 Mehr 1405 (September 28, 2026), on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly's 81st session in New York. According to IRNA (via Khabaronline), he said the only remaining issue in the talks is the Strait of Hormuz, and Iran's conditions for reopening it, endorsed by the Supreme Leader, are fully defined. Araghchi said Iran's seven-point plan had already been relayed to Washington through the Qatari mediator, and he hoped an official US response would reach Tehran through the same channel by Tuesday, 7 Mehr (September 29). He firmly denied any Iranian flexibility on the nuclear issue.
