Big US Banks Open Earnings Season on Tuesday; the S&P 500 Sits Just Below Its Record

12 October 2026 | 8 days ago

US stock futures edged higher on Monday, 20 Mehr 1405 (12 October 2026), ahead of a week that opens third-quarter earnings season. Trading Economics reported that JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, Citigroup and Wells Fargo report on Tuesday, 21 Mehr (13 October), and Bank of America and Morgan Stanley on Wednesday, 22 Mehr (14 October).

At the same time, the September consumer price index is due on Wednesday and the producer price index on Thursday, 23 Mehr (15 October). Last week all three major US stock indexes closed higher as a rally in technology shares offset concerns over rising oil prices and bond yields.

The US500 index (a contract for difference) rose 0.28 percent to 7,834 points on Monday; it is 2.81 percent higher over the month and 17.72 percent higher over the year, and sits just below its all-time high of 7,844.67 points set in October 2026. The source warns that energy worries have resurfaced after Trump's remarks about joining Saudi Arabia against the Houthis. Risk appetite on Wall Street feeds into oil, gold and emerging-market prices.
