Reuters said the main drivers were hopes for a ceasefire between the United States and Iran and speculation about a possible US ban on diesel exports, which has widened the gap between the US benchmark and Brent. Concern over Houthi (Ansarallah) attacks on Saudi Arabia persisted. Initial Kpler tracking estimates put crude flows through the Strait of Hormuz at about 33.7 million barrels a day in the week to 20 September, roughly level with the week before.
