Brent Touches $111 a Barrel, Its Highest Since May

Mehr, citing Reuters, reported that Brent crude rose as high as $111.05 a barrel in Tuesday's trading on 20 October 2026 (28 Mehr 1405) and traded near $110.80 at 08:10 GMT; Reuters described it as Brent's highest level since May. West Texas Intermediate climbed as high as $104.94. The drivers cited were escalating geopolitical tension in West Asia, concern about damage to energy infrastructure and the possibility that some limits on Russian oil supply may be eased.
On Sahmino's record at 16:00 the same day, Brent stood at $110.753, up $1.469 (1.34 percent) on the previous day. Sahmino's morning report put it near $109.8. For Iran, a higher oil price raises the value of each exported barrel, but it also reflects greater risk along the region's energy transit routes.
