The Central Bank of Iran said that by 14 Mehr 1405 (October 6, 2026) this year, 2.993 billion dollars of foreign currency had been supplied for medicine and medical equipment, and that there is no concern about supplying FX to the sector through the end of the year because the necessary provisions have been made. EcoIran reported the statement citing Tasnim, and Mehr News Agency carried it under a headline on the allocation of about 3 billion dollars; both quote a 28 percent rise in FX supply to the sector, and the reports do not state the base of that comparison.
The central bank recalled that last year about 4.7 billion dollars in total was allocated to medicine and medical equipment, which counted as a record against previous years. It added that FX allocation is fully systematic, that priorities are set by the Ministry of Health, and that the government's FX allocation committee meets each quarter to notify each agency of its FX budget, on which agencies must manage their order registrations.
