Free-Market Dollar Near 266,000 Tomans Saturday: Slightly Below Last Week, but 49 Percent Above Three Months Ago

The free-market dollar in Tehran traded between about 265,800 and 267,400 tomans on Saturday afternoon, October 10, 2026 (18 Mehr 1405). At 16:00 TGJU showed the dollar near 266,000 tomans, 200 tomans below the previous day, with a low of 265,000 and a high of 267,810 in today's trade. Alanchand showed 267,350 tomans at the same hour (0.58 percent below Friday), and Sahmino's live feed read about 265,800; the gap between sources comes from update timing. EcoIran wrote around midday that the dollar had reached 266,000 tomans amid conflicting news on talks and US officials' remarks about resuming the war.

TGJU data put the dollar at about 268,300 tomans on Sunday, October 4, 2026 (12 Mehr 1405), so today's price is 0.85 percent lower. Over longer spans, the price on July 11, 2026 (20 Tir 1405) was about 178,200 tomans, which makes today's level 49.3 percent higher, and on October 11, 2025 (19 Mehr 1404) it was about 112,700 tomans, a rise of roughly 136 percent in a year. On Thursday, October 8, 2026 (16 Mehr 1405) the dollar had risen 4,000 tomans to 267,200.
