China's General Administration of Customs said on Tuesday, July 14, that the country's goods trade reached 25.47 trillion yuan (about 3.75 trillion dollars) in the first half of 2026, up 16.9 percent year on year and the first time the first-half figure has passed 25 trillion yuan.
Exports rose 13.4 percent to 14.73 trillion yuan and imports climbed 22.1 percent to 10.74 trillion yuan over the January to June period. In June alone, combined exports and imports totaled 4.78 trillion yuan, a 24.2 percent increase from June a year earlier.
China is Iran's largest trading partner and top oil buyer, so the trajectory of Chinese foreign trade feeds directly into demand for Iranian goods and export routes.
