11 August 2026 | 2 months ago
According to Bourse News, China's Zijin Mining added $24 billion, a 23.8 percent gain, to its market value in July 2026, the biggest dollar gain among the world's 50 largest mining companies, whose combined value reached $2.17 trillion. The company passed Newmont to become the world's fourth largest miner by market value, at $125 billion. The main driver was Zijin's early July announcement on its first half performance, in which it said it expects net profit to rise 68 percent to about 39.1 billion yuan. The company's gold output rose 15 percent to more than 1.5 million ounces, while its lithium carbonate output reached 43,000 tonnes, up from just 7,000 tonnes a year earlier.
