Yemen's Houthis launch fresh ballistic missile attacks on al-Makha and Marib

Yemen's internationally recognised government armed forces said on Monday, August 10, 2026 (19 Mordad 1405), that the Houthis launched a fresh round of ballistic missile attacks on the Red Sea port of al-Makha and on residential areas of the city of Marib, Al Jazeera reported. The forces did not disclose any casualty figures for the latest strikes. The attack came a day after a Houthi missile strike on al-Makha killed at least seven people, wounded 30 others and caused extensive damage to the city's port. Local media reported a separate Houthi drone strike killed two government soldiers in the south central province of Shabwa. The escalation, reignited since the US and Israeli war on Iran that began on February 28, has been described by international officials as among the deadliest periods of Yemen's civil war in recent years.
