A spokesperson for Iran's Civil Aviation Organization denied on Monday, 9 Shahrivar 1405 (August 31, 2026), recent reports claiming that flights at Tehran's Mehrabad Airport had been cancelled and the airport closed. According to Ecoiran, the spokesperson said there is currently no problem at Mehrabad and flights are operating as scheduled.
The rumor circulated at a time when escalating US Iran military tensions have raised concern about the status of the country's airspace and airports. The official denial aims to ease concern among travelers and businesses that rely on air transport.
