28 July 2026 | 3 months ago
Iran's minister of communications and information technology said on Monday, 27 July 2026 (5 Mordad 1405), that 12 companies have so far declared their readiness to obtain an artificial intelligence operator licence.
The AI operator licence is a new licensing framework under which licence-holding companies would be able to offer AI services and processing infrastructure commercially inside the country. The emergence of this market represents a new revenue avenue for firms active in information technology and communications, including listed companies in that group.
Details of the licensing conditions, the number of licences to be awarded and the final timetable have not yet been announced.
