Fuelling with stations' open cards raised from 15 to 30 litres in Khuzestan, Ilam and Kermanshah

The spokesman for Iran's fuel station guild said on Monday, 27 July 2026 (5 Mordad 1405), that under measures adopted to ease fuel supply for Arbaeen pilgrims, the volume that can be dispensed using stations' open cards has been raised from 15 litres to 30 litres in the three provinces of Khuzestan, Ilam and Kermanshah.
Those three provinces carry the main routes to the Shalamcheh, Chazabeh, Mehran and Khosravi border crossings and see a jump in fuel demand during Arbaeen. A station's open card is the fuel card belonging to the station itself, used for vehicles whose drivers do not have their own fuel card, with the fuel priced at the open rate.
The change takes effect alongside other fuel decisions for Mordad, including the shift of the petrol quota for passenger cars to 110 litres from the start of the month and the approval of a 20-litre third-tier quota for three provinces. Fuel consumption during Arbaeen is one of the seasonal variables in Iran's petrol balance.
