Despite Dollar's 4 Percent Drop, Iran's Used Car Market Has Not Fallen as Much
9 August 2026 · 2 months ago
According to ecoiran, Iran's free market dollar rate, which stood at about 193,700 tomans on 7 Mordad 1405 (July 29, 2026), had fallen to around 186,000 tomans by Sunday, 18 Mordad (August 9), a drop of nearly 4 percent. The used car market has not reacted with the same intensity: the Peugeot 207 Automatic Panorama, for instance, fell 80 million tomans, from 2.57 billion to 2.49 billion tomans, a decline of about 2.9 percent. The report attributed the market's resistance to further declines to weak trading activity and the distance some models still have from prior price floors.
