31 August 2026 · last month
Tehran Stock Exchange closed higher on Monday, 9 Shahrivar 1405 (August 31, 2026), despite an escalation in political and military tension between Iran and the United States. According to Ecoiran, in a report also carried by Donya-e-Eqtesad, the main index (TEDPIX) closed up 0.49 percent, while the equal-weight index fell 0.34 percent. Trading value for the day reached 51 trillion tomans, and the market recorded 2 trillion tomans in net individual investor outflows. Per Sahmino's own live price data, TEDPIX stood at 6,547,932 points at 1:24pm Tehran time, up 0.49 percent, matching the reported figure.
According to the report, the market saw increased selling early in the session under the weight of the day's political developments, but demand strengthened as trading continued, allowing the main index to hold its upward path. The divergence between the main index and the equal-weight index suggests today's gains were concentrated mainly in the market's larger symbols, even as net individual outflows continued.
