Diesel Price for Non Major Mines Set at 8,070 Tomans per Liter for the Shahrivar to Aban Period

Under a new directive from Iran's National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company, reported by Ecoiran on Monday, 9 Shahrivar 1405 (August 31, 2026), the price of diesel for non major mines from the start of Shahrivar through the end of Aban 1405 (roughly September through November 2026), within the set consumption quota, will be 8,070 tomans per liter, before value added tax and duties. The rate applies only within each mine's set consumption ceiling, and major mines are excluded from it.
According to Ecoiran, at this rate, 100,000 liters of diesel costs a mine about 807 million tomans and 1 million liters about 8.1 billion tomans in base cost before tax. Ecoiran wrote that while such costs are manageable for large mining operations, they can meaningfully cut into the margins of small and medium sized mines; if the official fuel quota does not match a mine's actual operational needs, operators sourcing diesel on the open market also face the risk of being accused of fuel product smuggling.
