Fars News: New satellite images show three strike marks at Kuwait's Ahmad al Jaber base from Iran's attack
6 September 2026 | last month
Fars News Agency published new satellite images on Sunday, 6 September 2026 (15 Shahrivar 1405), of Kuwait's Ahmad al Jaber air base, which it said show three dark spots and possible burn marks in the area where American aircraft and fighter jets are based. The images follow an earlier announcement by Iran's army that in the 31st phase of what it calls Operation Saeqeh, it struck satellite communication systems, equipment warehouses and fighter jet hangars at the base with missiles and drones, damaging the communication systems and hangars.
Fars said foreign media had also reported Iran's strike on the base on September 3 (12 Shahrivar). No independent damage assessment has been published so far, and US or Kuwaiti officials have not confirmed the details of the attack. Any widening of strikes on US facilities in Persian Gulf states keeps the geopolitical risk premium in global oil and gold prices elevated.
