Kourosh Dehghani, head of crisis management for Bushehr province, said firefighters from Asaluyeh and South Pars extinguished a fire at an unlicensed fuel storage site in Asaluyeh and that it caused no deaths. IRNA reported the statement, carried by Donya-e-Eqtesad on Friday, October 16, 2026 (24 Mehr 1405).
Local officials said initial reports pointed to diesel stored in several homes caught up in the blaze; the definitive cause and financial damage are still under investigation. The report of a fire being put out concerns an unlicensed store and does not say a refinery caught fire or that South Pars production stopped.
