Gharibabadi: Tehran Is Finalizing Its Reply to Washington's Remarks and Will Deliver It Through Mediators

Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran's deputy foreign minister for legal and international affairs, told Al-Araby TV, as relayed by Khabaronline citing IRNA, that Tehran is finalizing its response to the American side's remarks and views on a plan Iran presented in New York. He said Iran's final position will be conveyed through mediators after consultations. On Monday 20 Mehr 1405, EcoIran had also quoted him as saying the reply to US considerations on a seven-day ceasefire proposal was still under review.
Gharibabadi added that Tehran stays ready for diplomacy provided the points raised are genuine, and that Iran's readiness to defend itself is no less than its readiness to negotiate. He claimed Washington has not honoured its commitments under the "Islamabad memorandum" and must take compensatory steps, and said Iran has breached none of its own. These remarks reflect Tehran's official position; the US side had not responded in these reports.
The report was published on Tuesday 21 Mehr 1405 (13 October 2026). It matters for markets because expectations about negotiations feed into the dollar, gold and oil.
