Glencore posts $4.4 billion first half net income, swinging back from a loss on the oil and copper rally

Commodity producer and trader Glencore reported on Wednesday 5 August 2026 that net income attributable to equity holders reached $4.405 billion in the first half of 2026. That compares with a loss of $655 million in the same period of 2025, a swing of roughly $5 billion.
According to Oilprice, the company's adjusted core earnings, or EBITDA, jumped 86 percent to $10.1 billion, while revenues rose 49 percent to $174 billion.
Glencore attributed the results to the rally in oil and copper prices and to market volatility, which lifted revenues and trading profits. Results from the large commodity houses are one read on where the raw materials price cycle stands, a cycle that also feeds the export revenues of metals and mining companies listed in Tehran.
