Global gold rose on Monday: August futures opened at $4,097.50, up 0.7 percent

27 July 2026 · 2 months ago

Global gold prices rose on Monday, 27 July 2026. According to Yahoo Finance, August gold futures opened at $4,097.50 per troy ounce that day, up 0.7 percent from Friday's closing price, and as of 8:13 a.m. US Eastern Time gold was holding steady at $4,098.30.

Trading Economics data for the same day recorded gold at $4,083.03 per ounce, a gain of 0.77 percent from the previous day. The difference between these readings reflects the contract type and the moment of measurement.

Gold's gain came as the United States and Iran mutually paused attacks, a development that on the same day drained the risk premium out of the oil market and sent crude prices sharply lower. Alongside the dollar rate, the global ounce is one of the two main inputs to gold and coin pricing in Iran's domestic market.
