Global Urea Price Jumps on Thursday to About 416 Dollars a Ton
11 July 2026 | 3 months ago
The global urea price rose about 8 percent from the previous day on Thursday, July 9, 2026, to near 416.5 dollars per ton. The increase came amid concern over supply disruption and higher transport costs stemming from West Asia and Strait of Hormuz tensions, which have pressured the global fertilizer and petrochemical markets.
The move matters directly for Iran, one of the world's largest exporters of urea and methanol: higher global prices can support the revenue of export focused petrochemical companies listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange, although shipping and export constraints remain a risk.
