According to the Mehr news agency, Mehrdad Hassanzadeh, director general of crisis management at the Hormozgan provincial government, said on Thursday 30 July 2026 that a power transformer was hit in the US attack on Qeshm Island, leaving electricity supply in some parts of the island unstable.
He said operational teams and staff from the power distribution company arrived at the site immediately after the incident, and that securing the area, removing hazards and repairing the electricity network were carried out quickly.
Hassanzadeh added that the rebuilding of the power network has been completed and that electricity supply on the island and in the neighbourhoods affected by the attacks has returned to stability. He said there are also no problems with water supply or other infrastructure. Qeshm is the largest island in the Persian Gulf and hosts a free trade and industrial zone.
