Iran Customs reissues Arbaeen directive; mobile phone registration suspended during the period
29 July 2026 | 3 months ago
The head of Iran Customs' export office issued a circular to operational customs offices on Wednesday 29 July 2026 reaffirming full compliance with the directive governing customs services during the Arbaeen pilgrimage period. Under the circular, the 1403 (2024) directive remains in force and all its provisions are binding until amended or revoked.
The main points reaffirmed are that mobile phone registration will not be carried out during the Arbaeen period, that export-banned items must be prevented from leaving the country, and that private passenger cars holding temporary exit permits may not leave the country until the end of the Arbaeen ceremonies.
Customs asked operational units to deliver services during the period in full compliance with the stated rules. The restrictions bear directly on the mobile phone import market and on private vehicle movement at Iran's western borders.
