After the second joint committee meeting in Tehran, the head of the Iran-Eurasia free trade agreement secretariat said on Saturday, 17 October 2026, that on Iranian-side data mutual trade between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union rose 22 percent in 2025 from the previous year. The union's own data show 11 percent growth for the same period; the gap between the two figures shows the sides have not fully reconciled their trade statistics. According to Iran's Trade Promotion Organization, the meeting stressed regular data exchange, market access for Iranian machinery and tractors, access for Iranian cement to Russian and Kazakh markets, and finalising a protocol for electronic exchange of customs data. Mehr reported the remarks.
