Iran Khodro swings back to a loss in spring 1405, posting 224,803 billion rials of net loss in its Codal filing

27 July 2026 | 3 months ago

According to financial statements published on the Codal disclosure system, Iran Khodro posted a net loss of 224,803 billion rials, close to 22.5 thousand billion tomans, in the first quarter of the year 1405 (spring, ended 21 June 2026), with a loss per share of 88 rials. The country's largest carmaker had closed its 1404 financial year with about 3,000 billion rials of net profit and earnings of one rial per share, after several loss-making years.

Operating revenue for the period rose 24 percent from the same quarter of 1404, from 919,486 billion rials to 1,139,382 billion rials. The cost of operating revenue, however, grew faster, up 35 percent to 1,243,487 billion rials, overtaking sales revenue. Selling, administrative and general expenses also increased from about 49,000 billion rials to 82,000 billion rials, while the company's finance costs edged slightly lower.

Iran Khodro has issued four new product price lists since the start of this year. According to the report, the product price increases alone did not cover the growth in production costs, and the company also faced lower production volumes and difficulty sourcing some parts during the period.
