Morteza Morovati, head of the quarantine and biosecurity office at Iran's Veterinary Organisation, said on Sunday, 26 July 2026 (4 Mordad 1405), that the import, export, transit and movement of any goods subject to the organisation's oversight is prohibited without veterinary health permits and confirmed laboratory results for the consignments.
He said that since the start of the Iranian year 1405, 2,916 consignments of goods subject to veterinary health quarantine and supervision have transited through Iranian territory. Over the same period 14,374 consignments across 66 product lines were exported and 1,612 consignments covering 30 product lines were cleared, all under health permits.
Morovati said that despite the country's emergency conditions, the bulk of clearances involved basic livestock and poultry production inputs, while dairy products, aquatic products and other animal products accounted for a significant share of exports. The figures give a picture of continuing trade in animal inputs and products during months in which Iran's transport routes have been under pressure from war and disruption.
