Israeli officials criticise Trump's push for an Iran deal, saying Washington wants an agreement at any cost

Israeli broadcaster Channel 12 reported early on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, citing Israeli officials, that they are critical of the US administration's push for an agreement with Iran and believe Washington is seeking a deal "at any cost".
According to the report, Israel is not receiving direct updates from Washington on the Iran talks and is relying on indirect channels for information.
The remarks were published as US and Iranian officials signalled they were nearing an interim arrangement on the Strait of Hormuz. For markets, any sign of friction between Washington and its allies over the negotiating track raises the implementation risk around a deal, and with it the volatility in oil prices and in currency expectations inside Iran.
