Siamak Azadi, head of Kermanshah province's Science and Technology Park, said at a press briefing on Wednesday, 5 August 2026 (14 Mordad 1405), marking the 46th anniversary of the Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research, that 300 tech firms supported by the park generated more than 4,000 billion tomans in domestic sales over the past year and exported knowledge-based products to 11 countries. According to Khabar Online, he said 37 of the province's technology products have no domestic equivalent.
Azadi announced the launch of a knowledge-based export center to Iraq at the province's science and technology tower, saying the province's border location could make it a base for expanding exports to Iraq and other regional countries. He also announced a 20 billion toman project to extract materials from natural bitumen, aimed at curbing raw material exports and developing downstream industry in the province.
