14 July 2026 | 3 months ago
Iran's IRNA news agency reported that the power plant on Kish Island in the Persian Gulf was damaged in a US missile strike on the night of Monday, July 13, 2026. The Kish Water and Power Engineering Company said a projectile that exploded near the plant altered the technical parameters of several units, and experts are assessing the damage.
According to the report, some generators may be taken offline for repairs, which could lead to scheduled temporary blackouts; even so, the island's water and electricity supply had continued without interruption as of Tuesday evening, July 14. Several vessels in the port area were also damaged, and no casualties or damage to residential or commercial buildings were reported.
