Kuwait's ambassador in Washington: Kuwaiti territory, airspace and waters have not been used for operations against Iran
26 July 2026 | 3 months ago
Kuwait's ambassador in Washington on Saturday, 25 July 2026, rejected a Wall Street Journal report that the country took part in air strikes against Iran, saying Kuwait has not participated in any military operation against Iran.
According to those remarks, Kuwait has not permitted the use of its territory, airspace or waters for offensive operations.
The statement comes after Kuwaiti infrastructure was hit in recent weeks and as the country's oil exports face severe constraints because of the sharp drop in traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. Unlike Saudi Arabia and the UAE, Kuwait has no export pipeline bypassing the strait, which is why its political positioning is followed closely in the Persian Gulf energy market.
