Russian President Vladimir Putin said today, Sunday September 13, 2026 (22 Shahrivar 1405), at the BRICS Plus "Outreach" session in New Delhi, that BRICS member states have their own independent channels for moving goods, services and capital that do not depend on external conditions, enabling effective trade, banking, financial and investment operations regardless of sanctions. According to EcoIran, citing Russia's TASS news agency, Putin also stressed the complementary nature of BRICS members' economies as one of the group's main sources of development. The remarks come as Iran, a BRICS member, uses similar channels to work around US sanctions.
