Qatar Airways suspends flights to Bahrain, Kuwait and Erbil until July 31; Emirates to resume Kuwait from August 1

With tensions persisting and Persian Gulf airspace restricted, regional airlines have extended flight suspensions. Qatar Airways said it is halting passenger flights to Bahrain, Kuwait and Erbil through the end of July 31, 2026. Emirates also extended its cancellation of Dubai to Kuwait flights through July 31 and said the route will resume from August 1.
The European Union Aviation Safety Agency has advised airlines to avoid the airspace of Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, the UAE and the western Gulf of Oman until at least July 29. Flights to and from Doha are routed through a limited number of authorized corridors, which caps daily capacity and lengthens journey times. The disruption weighs on the region's travel and trade.
