Yevgeny Salkov, CEO of Rosatom Service JSC, said on Wednesday, 15 Mehr 1405 (October 7, 2026), that Russian and Armenian specialists have planned a set of upgrades for 2027 (1406) to key systems at Armenia's nuclear power plant, near the city of Metsamor, so the facility can keep operating effectively until 2036 (1415). That timeline extends Rosatom's earlier confirmation that the plant's reactor could operate safely until 2031 (1410). The Metsamor plant is Armenia's only nuclear facility and operates with Rosatom and its subsidiaries on safety upgrade and lifetime extension projects.
